Acne is one of the most common forms of skin problem. A large proportion of total world population suffers from this disgusting and embarrassing problem. Acne is simply a stirring skin disease, which affects the oil glands of human skin. Acne is not a serious threat for health, but the reasons behind this disease is mysterious to many. That’s why; a number of myths are built about it.
Most of those are about acne prevention and acne treatments. But the facts are vastly different than the general assumptions. So, here the myths about acne are discussed.Many believe that, acne has some sort of cure. It arguably is the most popular myth about acne. Acne can not be healed entirely. One has to maintain proper medication and treatment for acne cure. By taking necessary steps in treatment people can control or prevent acne. But, that does not mean it is gone for good.

Another misguided theory about acne is, its relation to sun. People have a common believe that the sunlight helps to prevent acne. Well, it may seem so at the first look. Sun temporarily masks the acne, keeps the oil glands dry and tightens up the hole. But at the same time sun damages the follicular walls blocking the stomas. So, sun is not the way of acne removal. In fact, it can result in worse acne condition.

Another myth is about washing face very often to get rid of acne. Many usually think, washing face repeatedly is the key of acne control. But the studies on acne show that the dirt in the face is not the reason for facial blemish. The pores in the skin is not clogged from outside. It is rather blocked from deep inside and starts to form acne. So, the truth is, washing face frequently does not help to stop acne. Instead, annoyance from too much wash increases acne.

Now, the myth about junk food. It is often found out that people rejects chocolate or oily foods, fearing it can increase acne. But, there is no evidence of relation between diet and acne.

Another common understanding about acne is the relation to age. Though, many thinks people only suffers acne in teenage, human of all ages are prone to this problem. Baby acne is the answer to this myth.

However, it is important to know, what is true and what is false about acne. And to have a proper acne treatment and acne medication to disgusting disease.
